Isolation Station Original
Original mixed media on canvas.
Framed.
100x100x2cm
‘Isolation Station’ 2020, 1m x 1m mixed media on stretched canvas
I paint intuitively to explore through markings on how my conscious and subconscious mind take turn it in making decisions.
The painting comes without planning, so that it is an honest conversation with the canvas, without overriding it with perfection or deviating from my truth.
This piece, Isolation Station’, is a response to being in Lockdown in 2020 and was a continuation of a painting which was paused in 2019, during challenging period of domestic isolation; through single parenting.
The outline of domestic objects, and of the negative or quiet spaces in my work, feel necessary in this piece for ‘ need for order’, amidst the chaos, which was so prevalent to that period of my life.
